"When I was seven, I remember my shoe broke while playing at school. It was a hand-me-down from my brother who was 7 years older than me. I cried. I did not stop until my teacher brought me home to my Mom. By the time my teacher left, my Mom laughed so hard with what happened, which added so much confusion to me. Turns out she was laughing at herself and her mistake of letting me go to school with a pair of rubber shoes that hasn't been worn for almost a decade. Even until now, I still have these moments when something just don't work, or break, or just simply don't feel right and I learned that the world will not always be what you expect it to be. At at the end of the day, we cry, we feel tired, we lose hope but we also stand up, and hold on to the promise of another day."
